Teeth Treatment Process?
Step 1
Initial Diagnostic Stage
- X-rays and impressions will be in order to produce study models which are a copy of your jaws
- A CT scan may be taken, to help diagnose and visualise the jaws 3 dimensionally ensuring there is enough bone for the dental implants, also establishing where your sinuses and nerves are (to avoid during procedure)
(Temporary dentures will be made for the patient to be worn during this period below)
Step 2
Stabilisation
Any other treatment required shall be completed before the implants are placed eg:
- Scale and Polish
- Gum Treatment
- Removal of decay from teeth to kept of failing restorations
- Extraction of teeth which are of poor prognosis
Step 3
Implant Placement
Any other treatment required shall be completed before the implants are placed eg:
- The implants will be placed into the jawbone based on the assessment of the x-rays and CT scans
- Implants can be placed under local anaesthetic or intravenous sedation. This will be decided prior to starting the treatment by consultation with the dentist and yourself
- Before the next visit can take place, the implants will need to heal up and integrate with the jawbone. This process normally takes 3 months, during this time you will have your temporary dentures so you can continue with your day to day routine
Step 4
Restoration
- After 3 months we will start restoring the implants. A healing collar is then placed onto the implants (under local anaesthetic) to form the connection between dental implants and overdentures
- The newly created overdentures will be fitted and the temporary dentures can be disposed of
- The dentist will show the patient how to look after their new overdentures

4 Implants and a Removable Overdenture
This patient needed two unrepairable lower teeth removing which meant his denture would become extremely loose. He was interested in a more permanent option so we provided four implants and a removable lower overdenture alongside an upper removable denture.
The final result was a stable lower set of teeth and beautiful looking upper teeth.
Dental Implants & Overdentures
This patient had extensive gum disease so this patients teeth were removed. Temporary dentures were provided but they were not secure enough for the patient to eat so we placed Dental Implants in the upper and lower jaws. We secure Overdentures to the dental implants which provides more stability and security for the new teeth.

For many years I felt self conscious about my teeth which inhibits the ability to smile, so I eventually decided to get something done and approached Ascent Dental Care in Dorridge. From the initial visit they were professional and efficient. The treatment from Yasmine and the team at Ascent was excellent, perhaps a little uncomfortable at times but not painful. The results are fantastic and now I just have to get into the habit of smiling and showing my wonderful new teeth.

I had a lingual brace fitted to my top teeth with Ascent Dental last year and I am very pleased with the results. I had some overcrowding and crookedness which has now been resolved and I feel much more confident with my smile! I would definitely recommend this type of brace if you are wishing to straighten your teeth invisibly, no one even noticed that I had a brace unless I pointed it out. The staff were very helpful and supportive during my treatment. I am now considering having my bottom teeth done with the same type of brace.

I have been using Ascent Dental for the 3 years, during that time I have had a range of treatments including fillings, an extraction under sedation, Damon braces, teeth whitening and contouring. I was a very nervous patient, but the team have been supportive and understanding and for the first time in my life I don’t dread visiting the dentist!
