Gummy smiles is often the term used to describe a person who shows a large portion of their gums as they smile. Although gummy smiles are a normal variation of the human anatomy, they can affect peoples confidence and embarrass them.
It is a fantastic dental Surgery an I would highly recommend any of my family a friends to go there.
The reception staff are all very helpful, polite, friendly and professional. The staffs and my Dr they both created a friendly welcoming an happy environment for me to walk into an it made sure that I was confident in having my treatment.
How Do You Treat a Gummy Smile?
We offer a few treatments that can be used to treat gummy smiles. Not all of them will be suitable for each patient and we will need to see you first for your free consultation to discuss your case.
- Laser Reshaping – a laser is used to carefully cut away any excess gum
- Orthodontics – This is a much more effective treatment in younger patients, as the brace controls/manages the patients bone development
- Anti-Ageing Injections – Injection on the upper lip can relax the muscles, which causes the upper lip to drop down and hide the gummy smile
I have recently finished my treatment and I couldn’t have asked for more. I have the confidence to smile again and all within 6 months…..pretty amazing! The team at the practice are professional and friendly and really put you at ease. I had no problems booking appointments around my working day which was an extra bonus. I would 100% recommend this dental practice!

I had a lingual brace fitted to my top teeth with Ascent Dental last year and I am very pleased with the results. I had some overcrowding and crookedness which has now been resolved and I feel much more confident with my smile! I would definitely recommend this type of brace if you are wishing to straighten your teeth invisibly, no one even noticed that I had a brace unless I pointed it out. The staff were very helpful and supportive during my treatment. I am now considering having my bottom teeth done with the same type of brace.

As someone with an extreme fear of everything dental, I can’t recommend Ascent enough. All of the staff are the most knowledgeable, loveliest, most patient people. Started going to ascent dental care last March 2021 with the fear of having any dental work, I have always been so self conscious of my teeth from young but just lost confidence in any dentist that saw me.

This has been a very positive experience. I didn’t have an appreciation of what can be done with orthodontics these days so the result has been very impressive .
