Professional snoring treatment device

What Is Somnowell?

Somnowell is a an oral application (Mandibular Advancement Appliance – MAA) that has been designed to treat patients for snoring (and other) conditions.

What Causes Snoring?

When you are sleeping your upper airway muscles will relax and in some people obstructions and bottle necks can be caused through the airway passage, which makes the soft tissue next to the airway passage vibrate, causing the noise we know as snoring.

How Does The Somnowell Appliance Work?

The MAA has been designed to gently hold the patients lower jaw and tongue in the recovery (forward) position while the patient sleeps. The recovery position will stop the tongue from blocking the airway and will stop the soft tissue in the patients mouth from collapsing and causing the vibrations which makes the person snore.

How Long Will The MAA Last?

The device is made out of a strong chrome cobalt alloy that has been designed to comfortably treat your snoring condition whilst being strong enough to last a lifetime. The device will not be susceptible to general wear and tear and has a high resistant to the bacteria that commonly affects the plastic and acrylic devices that are also available.

Is Somnowell Medically Approved?

The MAA devices have been scientifically and medically proven to treat sleep apnea and snoring. The device was originally designed and developed by a specialist orthodontist consultant (Dr Simon Ash), who has over 30 years clinical experience and specialised in sleep disorders.

What Other Conditions Can Be Treated By The Somnowell Device?

Not only is the appliance designed to stop snoring, but it can also be used for these conditions:

Sleep Apnea – Maintains an open airway as the patient sleeps
Teeth Grinding (Bruxism) – Allows the patient to move their jaw as they sleep without damaging the enamel of the teeth
TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder) – Often linked with teeth grinding and can be treated alongside these other conditions
