Dental implants are one of the most modern and exciting ways to replace missing teeth. They are in essence titanium or ceramic pegs that are surgically and carefully placed into your jawbone. They will then fuse with your jawbone, giving you strength and stability for your new teeth on top.
The implants can be seen as as equivalent root replacement, as they will fundamentally act like the new root of the tooth. The implant is not actually visible once they are placed as they are hidden in the gums and by the teeth on top.
After the healing period of the implant placement appointment, the tops of the implants are uncovered and prepared for the final restoration to be fitted on top.
We work with one of the leading suppliers of dental implants, who are an internationally recognized company: Straumann. We only use recognised providers of dental implants so our patients are secure with the knowledge that they are having a high quality implant, that has been used and tested for many years, made out of a high quality material.
The placing of the implants is only part of the treatment. It is an important step as this is what will then go on and anchor in place your new teeth. Depending on the exact case you have (e.g. number of missing teeth, where they are located etc), the restoration we used to replace your missing teeth will vary. If there are multiple missing teeth, it could be an implant retained bridge, or in the worst case scenario of full sets of teeth (overdentures). In milder cases of single tooth replacements, this can be achieved with a single implant retained crown.
We offer many different treatments for a vast number of scenarios, if you are unsure what treatment will best meet your needs, please do not hesitate to book your free consultation today.
