What is a Simplant?

Simplant is the most recent development in dental implants dentistry, using modern sophisticated computer technology to merge the CT scans into one fully 3 dimensional model of the jaw, which is then used to accurately plan the dental implants treatment.

Why would I need a Simplant?

The Simplant technology is a useful aid to be used alongside the planning of a dental implant, as it allows for a more accurate and safer treatment. If you are suffering from a lost tooth due to decay and infection (as well as other reasons), a dental implant with the use of Simplant is a perfect solution to stop the jaw shrinking affect caused by a missing tooth, helping to improve the overall appearance and aesthetics of your smile.

How long does the Simplant treatment take?

Treatment times will vary from patient to patient, but using Simplant alongside a dental implant treatment will not add any extra time to complete (dental implants can take as little as 3 months).

What is the Simplant procedure?

The Simplant dental implant procedure consists of a few stages:

  • A cone beam CT scan (a three-dimensional model of the jawbone is then created on the computer)
  • A mock up implant is then inserted into the 3D jawbone (using Simplant software), showing the dentist exactly where all the vital nerves, sinuses and blood vessels are in the patients jawbone
  • The computer mock up implant acts as a surgical guides for the dentist, ensuring a safer and more accurate dental implant procedure, due to extensive planning before the actual installation

CT scan with simplant technology

  • Based on the results of the CT scan and 3D model, all the dental implants will be installed, covered by the gum and left to heal
  • After the healing phase, the crown, dentures or overdentures will be fitted securely to the patients dental implants
