3D Toothbrush That Cleans Your Teeth In 6 Seconds!

A new interesting product that has recently entered the dental market is the Blizzident. The Blizzident is an innovative way to brush your teeth perfectly in a record time of just 6 seconds!

How Does Blizzident Work?

This device is uniquely made to fit your exact mouth measurements. A 3D scan will be taken of your mouth and then sent to Blizzident who uses high precision 3D printers to create an exact replica mold with smooth surfaces. After the mould has been made, soft ultrafine bristles are then attached to the mould to create your tooth brush.

To use it, you simply put your toothpaste on top of the bristles. Place the moulds in your mouth. Then grind your teeth left, right, backwards and forwards for six seconds. Because of the placement of the bristles, they are able to reach places that your normal tooth brush won’t be able to. They also have slots for floss to be fitted as well, which allows you to floss and brush at the same time.

The 6 seconds of using this device has been described as being equal to approximately 3 minutes of a normal tooth brush.

Does It Really Work

This is a very new product and as of yet, there have been no clinical trials to say if this device really works as well as it says it does. Dental professionals have however said that they believe this product is not as an effective replacement for manual brushing as one of the reasons why you should brush for a minimum of two minutes a time, is to allow for the fluoride to work.

Although unproven at the moment, it will definitely be worth keeping an eye on this technology for the future!

Practicing Good Oral Hygiene

Good oral hygiene is a key factor in ensuring that you keep your natural teeth for as long as possible. Maintaining a healthy daily oral hygiene routine will help protect your teeth for longer. It is also recommended you visit your hygienist, generally every 6 months (can be different for some patients), so they can identify and catch any problems early on e.g. plaque developing, early signs of gum disease etc. If you would like to book your hygiene visit, please call us today.

Avoid Root Canals With This New Dentist Technique!

Arrange your free consultation today!

Recent dental studies have suggested that by making a tiny cut on the tooth to damage the nerve root will cause the tooth to bleed, which then develops blood clots.

These blood clots then stimulate a blood supply to the infected tooth, which helps to regrow the nerves and effectively heal the tooth; without the need for a root canal.

This is currently being trialed at the University of Liverpool to gain conclusive evidence this new technique works effectively and safely.

If this technique proves to be successful, it will completely revolutionise root canal treatment.

How Does This New Procedure Work?

1st Visit

During the 1st visit the dentist will drill into the infected tooth and use an antibiotic paste to disinfect the canal.

2nd Visit

2 weeks later the patient will need to return for the second visit. Using a specific dental tool the dentist will carefully make tiny incisions to the root canal system until it starts to bleed.

The bleeding will then form a blood clot which has been seen to encourage the growth of new blood vessels. The blood vessels will boost the nutrient and oxygen supply to the tooth which in turn helps repair the pulp.

Exactly why this technique works has not been conclusively identified yet, but the early studies has proven it successful.

At the moment, the University of Liverpool are trialing this with 30 patients. 15 having traditional root canals and the other 15 having the new treatment.
