What Are Overdentures?

Overdentures is the name given to the restoration dentures that are used to be secured on top of the dental implants you would of previously had placed. They are a secure way to replace full sets of missing teeth.

What’s The Difference Between Dentures and Overdentures?

The key difference is that dentures will be a removable option that is held in by the suction created between your bone ridges and the denture itself. The overdentures are a secure and stabile way at replacing teeth as they are fitted on top of dental implants. The implants will act like the roots of your new teeth and will help stabilise the region of your mouth.

Why Have Overdentures?

When you have lost your teeth or are in the process of losing your teeth, not only will the aesthetics of your smile be affected but it will also have an impact on the functionality of your teeth. Eating with missing teeth can cause problems and place further strain on your remaining teeth. There are a number of options that can be chosen to replace missing teeth. The gold standard is to have an implant retained option as this offers the most stability, ensuring you won’t have to worry about your teeth falling out when you are enjoying your favourite foods.

Am I Suitable For Implants?

Unfortunately not everyone will be suitable to have implants as there has to be sufficient bone in the jaw for them to be placed. We offer free consultations so we can assess your situation and suitability of treatments we offer.
