Braces Or Dental Veneers?

Now this can be quite a loaded question as it does really depend on your individual case. It is quite common to have people enquiring for both braces and dental veneers as they are unsure which will be the most suitable treatment for them.

Why Braces

If your unhappy with the straightness of your teeth and their positioning, braces tends to be the most suitable option. This is because if you did want veneers but had crooked teeth, the veneers would be bonded onto crooked teeth (as they are like false finger nails but for teeth).

Why Veneers

If you are unhappy about the shape, embrasures, size or colour of your teeth, then dental veneers may be the treatment for you. They can really give you the highly sought after dazzling hollywood smile.

We offer both composite and porcelain veneers. Both can give you very excellent results, but with the main difference that the porcelain option are made out of a more stronger material and can have a longer lasting life.

Having Braces Before Veneers

If you are really keen on having the hollywood veneer smile but do suffer from crooked teeth, it might be worth considering an orthodontic treatment to begin with, which is then followed up with Veneers. This is so your teeth are straight for the veneers to fit nicely on top (and the teeth will also be retained in position by the retainers.

As well as having the braces and retainers in the orthodontic package, teeth whitening is also included. This means at the end of the straightening your teeth you can really give them a lift to finish off your smile (in case you decide against veneers).
