There has been a lot of controversy related to the use of the traditional amalgam silver fillings.
The controversial topic widely states that amalgam fillings contain the element Mercury which can be dangerous to people if they receive high exposure and that it has been said that amalgam fillings can leech Mercury into the mouth. But there hasn’t been any conclusive evidence to state if this is enough exposure to cause any health concerns, such as Mercury poisoning.
At One Dental Clinic our patient’s welfare is of the upmost importance to us and as a result we avoid the use of Mercury fillings, and offer alternative such as tooth colored composites and ceramic fillings.
As well being a very controversial topic, there are also other reasons that you may want to have your amalgams replaced:
If you are unhappy with the way your fillings look or you are worried about the potential health risk, please do not hesitate to call us to arrange your free consultation today.
