Your dentist would like some advice about the position of your teeth. We will advise whether you would benefit from a type of orthodontic treatment.
Orthodontic treatment usually involves the wearing of braces (removable or fixed) often the extraction of teeth, and very occasionally jaw surgery. The latest techniques involve non-extraction of teeth using the latest dental braces.
There are 3 main reasons for having orthodontic treatment:
It is likely the private dentist will have a look at your mouth and teeth using a small mirror and a ruler. X-rays, photographs and moulds (impressions) may also be taken. All of these measurements and records will help the private dentist decide which is the best treatment for you.

The dentist often carries out the treatment personally, although in some cases another member of staff may treat you. On occasions your own dentist will be asked to treat you under the guidance of our dentist. Your dentist will usually carry out any extractions that are necessary as part of the treatment.
